To Karbala I yearn to go

To lament and show my sorrow

Tribulations in this land of grief

Salutations will bring me relief

We'll add our tears to the Euphrates

Lamentations flowing with such ease

This matam will reverberate

This tragedy we must narrate

Until my death, "Ya Husayn" I'll say

And cry for Husayn on Judgement Day

For on those plains we heard your call

You saved Islam for us all

Harbun liman haarabahum

Wa silmun li man saalamahum

In Khom we were left two weighty things

To the Ahlul Bayt we'll always cling

Peace be on you Ya Aba Abdillah

The grandson of Rasulullah

Qad Kotelal Huseino bi Karbala, Qad Zobehal Huseino bi Kerbala

We cry for your suffering oh Fatema
