Zainab you will face hardship when I say “Khudahaafiz”

1.

Oh my sister I have been left completely alone

It is difficult for me because they have all gone

The dear ones have now been slain

So I say “Khudahaafiz”

2.

Oh my sister please tell Sughra about Ali Akber

Martyred fighting for Islam then quenched his thirst at Kauthar

When Sughra's letter did come

Akber said “Khudahaafiz”

3.

Oh my sister narrate to Sughra about Qasim

His body cut to pieces fighting for Bani Hashim

My brother had made his wish

So his son said “Khudahaafiz”

4.

Oh my sister comfort Ruqayya for her tears

In his quest to bring water Abbas became a martyr

He could not bring back water

So he said “Khudahaafiz”

5.

Oh my sister please know Sughra will look for Asghar

With a poisoned arrow killed him suffering thirst and hunger

They did not spare a baby

So he said “Khudahaafiz”

6.

Oh my sister I leave hoping for Allah's rahmaa

And my successor is worthy of doing sajdaa

The dagger will behead me

When I say “Khudahaafiz”
